Yesterday, while exiting the Walmart in Wake Forest, NC, I heard raised voices and several people with odd expressions on their faces. There was a large dark grey column of smoke rising from the parking lot. My nose was assailed by crude odors and I could see flames rising from the hood of a vehicle.
I sort of fast walked to my car while I heard sirens getting ever closer. I was carrying a bouquet of flowers in a glass vase, so I couldn’t really run to my car. I initially thought it was an EV on fire since that shows up in the news on occasion. But it turned out to be an older Chevy SUV.
I retrieved both my Olympus camera and my OSMO Pocket from my car and safely stowed the flowers. I got several good shots and a video recording of the burning car, its apparent owner, and the firefighters putting out the blaze.
