My journey through the state of Florida began midway through my trip, sailing down the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) back in 2010.
On that trip, we sailed along the eastern US coastline from Virginia to Florida, stopping at several coastal towns. I eventually tired of waiting for a good “weather window” to make the crossing to the Caribbean, and I flew home to NC.
Luckily, my father got his window and made it across to the islands. On a later sailing trip, I would fly down to Guadaloupe and join my father and his partner for a Caribbean cruise in a much larger sailboat.
