My name is Kasanje (카산제). Originally born and raised in Washington State, I have resided in North Carolina since 2007.
In 2024, I graduated from Vance-Granville Community College with an associate’s degree in Business Administration.
Apart from my hobbies of travel blogging and photography, I enjoy selling men’s and women’s apparel on eBay.

My History with Blogging
My first blog, “Stone-Soup Travels” was started in 2007 as a sort of diary to record a backpacking trip with my father. We visited family in England and flew down to France, then we rode the trains down through Spain and back up along the Mediterranean to France. We rented a car and visited French castles and took a ferry back to England.
It was a wonderful trip and I recorded as much as I could whenever I had internet access.
Stone-Soup Travels was hosted on Blogger and remained active until sometime in 2013 when I switched email providers and lost access to the site. I did manage to backup some of the data and I uploaded my photos to Photobucket, though I did later lose access to Photobucket.
In September 2018, I stumbled upon WordPress, after some research on blogging platforms. I created “kasanje.home.blog” as a means of once again recording a diary for travel. I flew to New York City to visit my father and see my uncle who was visiting America.
After my visit to the city, I found I didn’t have anything new to post to the blog. I could see the stats and traffic to the site dwindling and I felt a bit despondent having lost that attention. I floated several different ideas for the blog and the direction I would take it, and eventually landed on writing about the deals websites I frequented. I also posted about Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO) which I had been playing since 2008.
Starting in 2020, I went all-in on writing gameplay guides for mobile games that were being offered on Get Paid To platforms such as Swagbucks or FreeCash. I bought the custom domain name “FatWallet Refugee” as an homage to the now defunct Fatwallet forums where I learned all about manufactured spending, churning, and how to collect credit cards and float debt.
Later in March of 2024, I upgraded my free WordPress site to a paid premium plan that included WordAds revenue sharing. I had previously seen a great deal of traffic in 2022 after I started writing about Shadow Brides: Gothic RPG, a mobile game with a decent following. The site’s traffic had tapered off during 2022-23, but I thought if I followed the same format with another title that I might see similar results.
More recently, in 2025, I nearly missed 1 million page views (967,973), after I removed a large portion of site content and shifted fatwalletrefugee to a family friendly gaming site. I had seen spectacular success with my game wiki format, but had wandered into writing about mature rated games. I had been earning around $15 a month in ad revenue, from using WordAds, but that dropped to $3-4 after the change.
This year, 2026, marked a big move for me. I migrated all of my personal blogging content to kasanje.com. This includes all travel, cooking, DIY, photography, and diary posts and page content. The only stuff still hosted over on fatwalletrefugee are game guides, the eBay Style Code Catalog, and my WordAds revenue reports.
Other Activities and Hobbies
From 2013 to 2021, I ran a crypto mining business. Several other obscure ventures followed, including an LLC that managed influencer talent.
Currently, I am a reseller. You can find my stores on eBay; I operate primarily under @fatwalletrefugee and @lafemme1st. 2026 will also mark my entrance to the world of live-selling on eBay.
I’ve sold goods on Amazon, eBay, Poshmark, Vinted, and other marketplace sites, but I find eBay is my favorite.
What does Kasanje mean?
I get asked this a lot online when I play games or join forums. Kasanje was an African King. I will often write it out in Korean Hangeul as 카산제.
Kasanje is also my middle name. I tell people I was named for kings, although nobility would be more accurate. My full name is Daniel Kasanje Arthur.
Daniel
Daniel, from the Old Testament had several adventures and received rewards from three different kings for his prophetic dreams. He was made ruler over the province of Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar, he got some nice purple robes (signifying royalty and nobility) from From King Belshazzar, and later after Babylon was conquered, the new ruler King Darius named Daniel to the Triumvirate (3 person administration) for his whole empire.
Kasanje Kingdom (1620-1910)
Kasanje was the name of a kingdom in Central Africa, also known as the Jaga Kingdom. The ruler of the kingdom was known as a kinguri (an elected king), the first of which bore the name Kasanje.
Arthur
King Arthur, was a legendary king of Britain. He is a folk hero and a central figure in the medieval literary tradition. I grew up reading books and watching films about Arthur and other British heroes. I am English, and a little French, on my fathers side.
