The Caribbean

In 2016, I journeyed to the island of Guadeloupe to join my father Maikel and his partner Madeline on their sailboat in the Caribbean. They had already sailed extensively in the area visiting several if the island nations. I was overjoyed to have been given the opportunity to join them on the trip.

We sailed down to Dominica and then returned to Guadeloupe for my flight back to North Carolina. I had two weeks of paid vacation saved up from working full-time at the pharmacy.

I just don’t feel quite at home without water in sight. It’s really something at my core. I may have been born in Tonasket, but I was raised in Port Townsend, on the water, in her embrace, and that’s where I’ll go when my journey is finally done.

Most of the posts are being written from memory and the photos I was able to recover from the photo storage platform, Photobucket. I didn’t record much on my phone, since I was using it mostly to play Pokémon GO back then.
