Today is Thursday the 10th of September. This is now Sylvia’s 23rd day of recovery after her shoulder surgery on August 18th.
She has been attending physical therapy twice a week for a couple of weeks now. She has a few exercises the doctors give her to do at home. She has to bend at the waist and lightly move her arm around in a in a back and forth movement like a pendulum swinging. She also continues to practice her breathing exercises using the spirometer she received from the hospital after surgery.
One afternoon we had some mac and cheese primavera. It was fairly simple. We used the store bought pasta and cheese sauce with some frozen veggies.

We have been steadily eating through the 33 dishes mama cooked in preparation for her surgery. Last night we had chili and cornbread for dinner and the night before that was Lebanese Bulgar Pilaf.
I’ve used up most of the frozen fruit for lunchtime smoothies and we’ve already gone through one bag of mixed cereals. The cereal is a mix of granola, All-Bran, and some dried fruit. We also have some almond butter. The texture leaves something to be desired, it tastes well enough though. We don’t have the proper equipment in the kitchen to make real nut butter.
